Proposed activity proponent: Limited liability company ‘Grant Investment’ –
VRN 50203367581, legal address Ernestīnes iela 41 – 7, Rīga, LV- 1046.
Proposed activity location: property ‘Liepas Nr.35″ (cadastral designation of the land unit 8084
017 0001), Ropažu parish, Ropažu region.
State Environmental Service Permit Board 2023. 14. carried out an initial environmental impact assessment
in March No. AP23SI0127, containing the decision to apply the procedure of the Environmental Impact Assessment
to the proposed activity of the limited liability company “Grant Investment” (Reg. No 50203367581)
– extraction of mineral resources in the deposit “Remīne”.
The proposed activity includes continuation of extraction of mineral resources in the deposit “Remīne”. Starting from
in 2005, Remīne Ltd. carried out mining operations in the dolomite deposit. Since 2015, the Remīne dolomite
deposit has not been mined, so the area
has been partially flooded due to the cessation of groundwater pumping. Service 2022. 23. In March ,,Remīne” has issued
with a deposit passport valid until 2047. 22 February 2011 It is planned to restore the dolomite extraction and
treatment process, thereby pumping out the flooded part of the quarry and
discharging the incoming surface water and groundwater into the surrounding environment, first to the pond in the
N part of the deposit, from the N pond to the Pietēn River.
The mining is planned both above and below the groundwater level
.
No transboundary impact is foreseeable for the proposed activity.
The initial public consultation is carried out in accordance with the procedure established by the regulatory enactments, following the requirements included in the letter No 5-01/269/2023 of the State Environmental Monitoring Office of 16.03.2023.
The initial public consultation takes place in the period from 2023 to 2023.
