On 15 December 2020 at 15.00, anonline (remote) information meeting on the Specially Protected Area, Nature Reserve “Dubnas floodplain”. Participation in the meeting should be registered by 14 December by e-mail birojs@vkb.lv, and questions and proposals for consideration at the meeting are welcome.
From 1 December 2020, a video presentation and other information materials will be available on www.vkb.lv and www.daba.gov.lv to inform about the objectives of the nature reserve, the nature values, the procedure for developing the nature management plan, the deadlines, the experts involved, the planned studies and activities and the opportunity to participate in the development of the nature management plan.
The nature reserve “Dubnas paliene” was established in 2004 and is located in Livani and Vārkava municipalities. The 377 ha nature reserve is also a Natura 2000 site of European importance, established to protect the Dubna River and its floodplain grasslands, and is home to several rare and protected plant, bird, fish and mammal species.
The aim of a nature conservation plan is to reconcile the interests of natural resource use, regional development, people and nature conservation, while at the same time preserving the area’s natural values. The plan is developed by SIA “Vides Konsultāciju Birojs” on behalf of the Nature Conservation Agency.
We invite residents, landowners, businesses and anyone else interested to join the information meeting to receive up-to-date information and provide constructive and timely feedback on the management and use of the site! We invite you to express your opinion and make proposals on the future development vision of the nature reserve during the meeting or in writing until18 December2020, addressing them to the plan developer SIA “Vides Konsultāciju Birojs” (Ezermalas iela 28, Riga, LV-1014, e-mail: birojs@vkb.lv, www.vkb.lv, phone: 67557668).
The development of the plan is carried out within the framework of the nature census or the project “Creation of preconditions for better biodiversity conservation and ecosystem protection in Latvia” No 5.4.2.1/16/I/001 implemented by the European Union Cohesion Fund.
